Hi, I’m Jessamy.

I am the director and owner of Mindful Midwife Mama.

I am a mama to a little, three year old girl who has helped me learn firsthand the challenges of transitioning through the seasons of motherhood. In particular, I know the importance of nourishing my own body and seeking holistic support to ensure the overall well-being for both me and my baby.

  • I am a registered Midwife. I trained at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne where I provided one on one midwifery care as part of the caseload program.

  • I am a certified Nutrition Consultant for Pregnancy, Postpartum and Baby through Oh Baby Nutrition.

  • I have a diploma in Child Services, a degree in Social Science and I am a child birth educator.

  • I am experienced in providing techniques and guidance for breastfeeding and newborn sleep and settling.

I take an evidenced based approach and provide holistic, mindful support to mamas to ensure they are informed, empowered and well-nourished for pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be such an exciting time. I am here to answer your personalised questions and provide you with evidence based recommendations to support you and your baby to have the best start possible, and embrace this new season in your lives.

In pregnancy the nutrients that are supplied to both you and your baby need to come from the foods you eat and/or supplements, otherwise, they will be taken from your own body. This can lead to depletion and cause many unfortunate consequences on your own health. Nourishing your pregnancy will help your baby build solid bones, a strong immunity and healthy tissue and organs.

I can support you during pregnancy to reduce fatigue, constipation, nausea, heartburn, mood swings, anaemia, gestational diabetes and cravings to name a few.

I aim to prepare you for the unknown and discuss what to expect at each stage of pregnancy so you feel informed and empowered.

Postpartum

In the postpartum period, I believe a mama’s health needs to continue to be supported and nourished. A mama's health must be a priority so that she has the energy and clarity for her new role in motherhood to support her growing and developing new baby.

The transition into motherhood has many learning challenges and I am here to support you and provide practical recommendations. In the postpartum period women are more susceptible to nutrient depletion including anaemia and osteopenia, as well as fatigue and depression. I provide individualised and practical nutrition support plans and provide holistic education to help balance your body’s needs while replenishing your reserves so you can feel your best.

I aim to support you and your baby to thrive by consuming a nutrient-dense diet, to enrich your breastmilk with all the nutrients necessary to help your baby's brain and body grow and develop.

My midwifery knowledge and experience allows me to clinically assess and advise when needed, and educate on normal newborn behaviours, maternal recovery and what to expect in the postpartum period.
